Evolving backwards, EPRDF’s way of forward

By Rundassa Asheetee Hundee
Before I get on with the subject matter titled above, I want you to take a glimpse into my thinking by considering the following analogy.
Nazi TPLF
Assume that the Tigre government arrested you in underground dark room for 25 years and you’ve never used your sight ever since. In the process, you started using your fingers to differentiate bread from a stew, or solid from liquid. As it turns out, you lost the power of your sight, so your eyes became useless.
If you have payed attention to what Sibhat Nagga said about EPRDF’s future when he was interviewed by ESAT Tv, some time around Malasa Zenawi’s death, he cited the above notion as a prime example even though he explained himself by saying, “We want the EPRDF” dissolve on it’s own when time comes”.
But what does that mean? To answer this question, we must think a little deeper about your 25 years prison life resulted in the evolutionary process that made your eye sight no longer needed because now your eyes are your hands!
Similar to this analogy, if the TPLF continues to follow it’s current definitive path forward for additional 20 or 25 years, the political nature of empire Ethiopia will change as men and women who made millions of dollars will be more interested to defend their wealth ignoring their ethnic identity as Tigre, as an Oromo or as an Amhara. A good example here are Alamayo Katama, Eliyas Ibsa, Dinqu Dayas etc, men who are working with anyone that defend their wealth.
Here, it is very important to understand such evolution is not biological but it is the selection process of economics. Understanding how America’s political process evolved from Mafia controlled business venture into corporate world, from black and white argument into republican and democratic party competition where defending one’s wealth, job and individual interest matters the most, empire Ethiopia’s current political environment will be subject to evolving backwards to the Haile Silase era of Ethiopia. In this sense, evolving backward can be unguided process. To make sure backward evolution take places, the TPLF has to do the following.

  1. Stay in power at any cost for as long as a century
  2. Plea to emotional attachment that humans have for personal economic interest.
  3. Recruit young engineers from universities, give them military and intelligence training and make them share holders in Bishoftu based TPLF owned assembling/manufacturing large corporation
  4. Continue developing Tigrai with telecommunication based spying networking technologies to have advantage over the rest
  5. Reproduce PDOs with men and women who have a better chance of survival of the TPLF gimgema process
  6. Produce wealthy middle class everywhere so that people will be divided or united along economic class rather than ethnic lines
  7. Continue balancing political threat by drawing the Oromo against the Amhara/the rest
  8. Allow others to waste their energy on a very unnecessary argument by exposing the injury one has caused the other
  9. Encourage opposition parties to be organized and compete in election process and then declare 100% victory to give an impression that the mass loves the EPRDF
  10. Corrupt the PDOs so that conflicts are always generated internally and use that to put pressure on PDOs.
  11. Allow religious divisions to create alliances between those who practice similar religion. For example, muslim Oromo loves muslim Amhara/Tigre over none muslim Oromo

By controlling these things, the TPLF will be able to reverse the current political landscape and take the empire back to the era of Dajazmach, Ras and blanbaras where PDOs will oppress their own fellow Oromos. Key to TPLF’s success so far has been ignoring knowledge and considering loyalty as a necessary criteria. Case in point here is making men like Minase W/Giworgise, Muktar Kadir, Aster Mamo etc, individuals who never had high school certificate.
Most interestingly, the TPLF leaders do not have to have mental capabilities or best IQ over the rest either. All they have to have is discipline to listen to their imperialist advisors whom they pay millions of dollars as consultant.
Over all, the TPLF hopes that the Oromo nationalism will die off as time goes on, and as capitalism takes root, young Oromians will be more interested in personal pleasure and careless about politics. In addition, they also believe that allowing the increase of technology will prolong their survivability since it would increase their military and spying capabilities.
This, at any rate, does not mean that the Oromo people will accept TPLF’s cheap strategy and fall for temporary pleasures only to evolve backwards. Instead, narrating TPLF’s attempt to take us back to the future by letting it’s EPRDF deliberately evolve into another party is crucial. By understanding TPLF’s paradoxical project of allowing the EPRDF to naturally transition into the Habasha repressive era, we can engage in smart conversation and shape our future.
Especially those who preach to us that we can shape our future by joining the TPLF must understand that joining Ethiopianism is reaffirming the validity of imperialist’s so called nation building propaganda. It is very important to understand that it is such a naive thinking what made the boarder between freedom and slavery so fragile. The fact that OPDO is there to speak in behalf of the Oromo people only stabilizes the evil empire by letting us shove our hands into the empire’s false political fire.

  1. @Rundassa Asheetee Hundee,
Your main problem is, you trust what woyanes/TPLF say. For that I disagree with you.
    1. When woyanes/TPLF inserted an article in the constitution that said, “Self determination including secession”, you believed them. That is not true and I hope you know now what that means.
    2. When they said all ethnic groups are equal, you believed them. What they meant was, we Tigrayans are more equal than all others ethnic groups and we will work hard towards that end.
    3. When Meles said the tri-color flag is a piece of cloth, you believed him. That was not true ether. When he died, his coffin was draped and decorated with the same “piece of cloth”.
I can go on and on to give examples, but I think there is no need.
Now you are quoting and telling us what the nutty and most erratic person (Sebhat Nega) in TPLF mafia gang said. Please stop having nightmare because he said that. For good or bad, the country is changing and no one can reverse that and take it back to the time of emperor Haile Sellasie. This is unnatural and not going to happen in our life time.
I have a better idea for you, though. Instead of being hostage of past bad/wrong deeds and having nightmares after nightmares every time woyane/TPLF “officials” bluff, we can discuss/debate on issues that matter most to our people/country and region. I mean, fight the regime in power collectively by all means to regain our freedom/dignity and work/live in peace in our own country.
May God/Allah give us wisdom and courage to do the right thing!!!

  2. Lets stop narrow ethnic centerd arguement. It never advanced any one freedom except allowing the gangesters in Addis.please stop narrow mindedness start working for individual freedom. When you do that all of us will be free.you cannot free Oromo while Amhara or tigre being oppresed.lets stop being hatefull. I fully agree with your reasoning these gangester get instruction from so called western consultant but we should nt help them either.

  3. PROGRESS AND ADVANCEMENT UNDER EPRDF
No starvation, No civil war and ETHIOPIA is the top fastest economy of the Africa.

  4. ….indeed, it is encouraging possibility.
If Ethiopia’s economy growth for the next five years with the speed as it did for the past 15 years, ETHIOPIA’s economy will for sure surpass the Africa’s biggest GDP (south Africa).

  5. in order to understand what our problem is, we need to be open minded and ready to accept the truth. The past can not be ignored , because we can learn from it. There is one important question we all need to ask ourselves, why do we hate each other? why do Oromo hate Amhara people, Why Tigrian hate Erirean, why Earitrean hate Ethiopian? and why other ethnic groups start to feel it more than ever? For many years the Oromo people have been told that the Amhara people took their land, kill their children, rape their wives, whish is true, during Haileslase Feudalism government few Amharic speakers Feudalists did the crime, however those criminals did not represent the majority, the majority of Amhara people was suffered the same way as Oromo people, Do we tell the truth to our children, no we did not, instead we still want revenge and kill each other, It is the same truth to Eritrean, Derg killed thousand of Ethiopians not only Eritreans,The truth is we are the victims of our History, and TPLT/ EPLF use it for their evel goal.

  6. Without stringent critique and follow up, any human system slides into a grim reality as you have tried to illustrate. But trying to demonize all the people in the leadership instead of pinpointing the actual problems, as you have done here, does more harm than good to the true course of people’s emancipation…
